Travel Safely By Boat

Description

The "Travel Safely by Boat" course is intended for individuals who are new to traveling by boat to offshore oil and gas installations, as well as for those who are currently doing so. The course comprises both theoretical and practical sessions, to achieve the following objectives: increasing participants' awareness of the risks they may encounter and how such risks are mitigated, ensuring that they are familiar with essential safety regulations and procedures in case of emergencies, fostering a greater personal commitment to safety, promoting effective use of personal safety equipment, and providing opportunities to practice and demonstrate proper techniques for boat transfers (using simulated boat decks and installation setups)

Target Audience

This program aims to provide first-class land safety and emergency training to newcomers, as well as all personnel currently sailing and boating to offshore oil and gas installations.

  • 12. Life buoys, Rescue tube and Man overboard procedures

  • 13. Communication equipment and procedures


Requirements
  • Participants should be 18 or older.
  • Good physical health to manage the physical demands of boat travel and emergency procedures.
  • Basic safety training or knowledge in marine environments is an advantage but not mandatory.
  • A strong interest in improving boat travel safety, personal protection, and emergency response knowledge.
  • Participants should be comfortable in water environments as some training may involve practical activities related to flotation devices and emergency drills.
