Rigger, Slinger & Banksman Stage 3 (RSB 3)

Description

Topics covered in the course include compliance with regulations, pre-lift preparation, communication techniques, visibility measures, principles of slinging, and hands-on practical exercises simulating real-life lifting scenarios.

Upon completion of the Stage 3 course, participants will be equipped with the necessary expertise to contribute effectively to offshore lifting operations while ensuring safety and adherence to industry standards.

Stage 3 targets individuals aiming to achieve OPITO-certified competence as riggers. Eligible candidates have either completed OPITO Stages 1 & 2 Rigger Training along with workplace experience or possess adequate relevant work experience to qualify for the OPITO Stage 3 assessment.

  • II. Prepare and sling loads

  • 1. Focuses on the Slinger’s role – specifying the Performance and Underpinning Knowledge/Understanding criteria for establishing the weight of the load; determining and checking the lifting method, the lifting accessories; the slinging of loads, and clearing the work area.
