Rigger, Slinger & Banksman Stage 1 (RSB 1)

Description

The course covers the foundational knowledge of slinging operations, including angle-tension relationships. Participants will be trained to inspect and evaluate loads, execute and supervise lifting operations with competence, and clear and organize the worksite post-loading and lifting activities.

Participants will learn to identify and apply relevant lifting regulations at the worksite, assess risks associated with deck lifting operations, and create lifting plans accordingly. They will also gain proficiency in operating lifting equipment and communicating effectively via radio and hand gestures. Additionally, foundational knowledge of slinging operations, including angle-tension relationships, will be covered. Participants will be trained to inspect and evaluate loads, execute and supervise lifting operations with competence, and clear and organize the worksite post-loading and lifting activities.

The Rigger Initial Training Standard is designed for individuals with minimal or no prior rigging and lifting operation training. It offers an industry-recognized introductory certificate for those seeking foundational knowledge before pursuing supervised workplace training.
