Offshore Personnel Transfer Safety (OPTS)
Description
The Offshore Personnel Transfer Safety Course has been carefully designed to incorporate continuously developing and improving techniques for the safe transfer of personnel from boats to offshore installations. It provides detailed guidance on proper methods of transferring personnel between ships and marine platforms.
Particular emphasis is placed on logistics in harsh marine conditions, equipment transportation and emergency response management. The course thoroughly covers all current methods of staffing in the offshore industry.
Along with classroom theory and hands-on activities, participants take part in hands-on learning experiences, including training in a Billy Pug basket with a crane dock use in, and cables with swing transfers
Target Audience
Contract workers in the offshore industry frequently commute by boat to various installations.
