Mines Rescue Training

Mines Rescue Training is a value added program designed to prepare workers for the unique risks and challenges of working underground and in open-cast mines. The training focuses on creating awareness, building skills, and ensuring that every person in the mine knows how to act in case of an emergency. It covers important topics such as hazard identification, fire prevention, use of self-rescue devices, handling explosives safely, rescue and evacuation procedures, working in confined spaces, first aid, and use of breathing apparatus during emergencies.

The program follows strict national and international guidelines. In India, training is governed by the Directorate General of Mines Safety (DGMS) under the Mines Act, Mines Rescue Rules, and Mines Vocational Training Rules. Globally, frameworks such as MSHA Part 49 (USA) and Mines Regulations 2014 (UK HSE) also set standards for rescue and safety training. Many courses are accredited to meet OSHA, DGMS, and recognized international safety benchmarks.

By attending accredited Mines Safety Training, mine workers, supervisors, and engineers build confidence and readiness. Ultimately, this training helps protect lives, reduce accidents, and promote a strong safety culture in the mining industry.

The Mine Rescue Training course prepares responders for the critical role of rescuing miners and others trapped or injured in underground mines due to accidents, roof collapses, floods, or explosions.

Requirements
  • Mine workers – new entrants and experienced workers who need refresher training.
  • Supervisors and engineers – responsible for daily operations and worker safety.
  • Mine rescue teams – specialized personnel trained to handle fire, explosion, or gas-related emergencies.
  • Contract workers and contractors – who perform services inside mines such as drilling, blasting, or maintenance.
  • Health and safety officers (HSO/HSSE) – ensuring compliance with DGMS and OSHA safety standards.
  • Emergency response teams – for fire, medical, and rescue preparedness.
  • Managers and executives – for understanding legal compliance and implementing safety culture.
